Question DetailsAsked on 4/12/2017

Why do Trane VL95 furnaces with variable speed fans have high pitched hum that is continuusly audible when running

installed two year old new UH2C100Av9V5 Furnace and 3 ton AC system. Both in heating and cooling it sounds like a jet engine starting up before you hear or feel air motion coming from all the vents in the house - up & down. and then stabililizes to a constant high pitched hum until shutting down. When just circulating air the noise is lowest.
Do DC controlled variable motors just make more noise. Should I have bought the VL95 with four pain fan speeds?
