Why is shower water draining down the pipe line from second floor really loud behind the wall?

Removed bath tub and had a tile shower installed but now the shower water draining is very loud when it is coming down the pipe behind the wall. It's a second floor bath room. It sounds something like a coffee maker percolating. It didn't sound loud before and sink water is not loud. Is it a sign of a problem with the converted tub to shower plumbing? Needless to say, I don't want to tear out the wall or the new tiles in the shower. No sign of water is leaking. It disturbingly loud when the shower water drains out. Any ideas?
