You can find a lot of previous answers to this question in the Home > Painting link under Browse Projects, at lower left - including typical pricing for painting, staining/clear finish, etc. Be cautious - some discuss typical costs per floorplan square footage, most discuss cost on the basis of square footage of actual area being painted and lineal feet or trim and such - a substantial difference in how you measure it and pay for it, especially if one bidder is quoting one way and another the other.

Also of course, quality of the painting matters a lot - you can commonly get a 3/4 bedroom condo/house interior painted for around $1-2/SF (floorplan) give or take for simple move-out wall-only, no inside of closets, no trim, one or very very few colors. On up to more commonly $2.50-5/SF (floorplan SF) for full house repainting - ceilings, closets, trim and doors (with paint, not stain) - to as much as $10/SF of floorplan for full house refinishing including stain or clear-finish trim. (All of above not including floors, or course).
