cut trees for free in exchange for the wood in Jamestown, TN

I have several large oak trees near my cabin that are in excellent health, but they are too close to my cabin.

Below is a link to a previous similar question with several answer links in it - including heads-up comments on liability and risk if you let an unlicensed, uninsured person do this. And since you say these are large trees too close to your cabin, definitely bear in mind the risk if whoever fells them accidentally puts one (or more - saw that situation once) through your cabin roof. In that sort of situation, even if you for whatever reason decide to let a sawmill or firewood company or such cut the wood and take it away, at least have a professional Tree Service which is licensed, bonded and insured do the felling.

Bear in mind a sawmill taking the wood away (especially since likely to be a small private operator since most larger commercial milling companies will not accept the risk of cutting on residential land, at least not anywhere near buildings) is unlikey to have bonding or insurance coverage to protect you against mistakes/accidents on their part like a contractor should have.

Also, many homeowner's policies protect againt YOU doing something like dropping a tree through your roof, but not if a contractor does it.
