do landscapers buy mature (6') Sago Palms

I have a very large Sago Palm in my yard and would like it removed. I was shopping at a nusery and noticed a 1 gallon Sago for $120. Mine is 6 ft tall. I'm wondering if someone would take it in exchange for removal of other bushes.

I doubt trying landscapers would work well unless a lot of people buy Sago Palms in your area or you find one specializing in palms - because most landscapers do not have a place to temporarily plant it until needed, and in most areas would not sell many that size in a year - that is around a $1000 retail item.

I would contact larger plant centers (they might not want it but might give the name of their palm supplier) and commercial nurseries who handle palms - they might come and dig it out with a tree spade and temporarily replant as nursery stock - or perhaps cut a deal with you to come get it within the next X months or weeks when they get a request for that size plant. That is much larger than normal nursery stock, as you say, so it would be used for a customer who wants an "instant" half grown tree. Might well find one who will take some other bushes out at same time as "payment" - especially if the other bushes are suitable for nursery stock too.
