does there need to be a padding installed under pro life flooring

Could not find a google link about pro life flooring - check the installation instructions or contact the manufacturer.

If you mean LifeProof - proprietary Home Depot brand name economy flooring - their instruction specifically say to NOT use any padding or other compressible layer under it other than sheet vapor barrier (visqueen) if over concrete or crawlspace. It comes with a thin poly fabric backing on it to reduce floor slap noise when it is walked on. A soft padding under it, as with any snap flooring, makes it prone to joint cracking and separation.
