has anyone ever bought tile online?

I need to buy some for my bathroom remodel. How did it work out?

No, nor has anyone I know. Suggest, if possible, try to compare the internet brand to actual samples at a local home improvement or tile outlet store. IMHO it's wise to read the fine print very closely - what if the product is damaged in transit? are handling and shipping costs included or are there hidden costs? if you overbuy, what is the internet company's return policy? if you run short, can the tile be matched?

The tile setter I hired suggested 3 local retail/wholesale outlets; they "loaned" samples and were willing to answer my many questions. I wanted to see/feel the tile in my kitchen before purchasing it - color & texture - before making my final selection. [:O] amazing how many shades of white there are
