A couple of weeks ago I asked a local wood fence family-owned contractor who I know and ran into at the lumberyard - his retail price (direct to homeowner, not as subcontractor), for hand-dug holes in cobbley gravel ground, $25, $30 and $40/LF for 4, 5, and 6 foot cedar one-sided or shadow-box fence with treated 4x4 posts and 2 metal bracketed rails, concreted post, one coat cedar stain/sealer. Addl $100 per mangate (3-5 feet wide) in addition to the per-foot cost for gate opening.
He said in easy digging ground like silt and tight sand price went down $10/LF across the board.
