While I have seen free-standing shower stalls done for around $1000-1500 in this situation (with no wall relocation needed), generally tying into plumbing and sewer pipe especially is not that easy, so that number tends to be more applicable for the rough-in (or about half again to double that if walls need moving around or built too), with the actual shower install running from about that much again to two or three times that commonly when getting into more medium-grade showers with tile and glass doors as opposed to the "cabin" type prefab showers.
