Depends on your job specifics of course - can run from about $4-5/SF with some blow-and-go contractors or in very low labor cost areas, on up to $12-16/SF depending on housewrap, insulation, etc you put under it, and what type of paint - some high-end paints for concrete board run about $2.50-3/SF (applied cost) alone.

Generally - normal or "average" costs typically run about $6-12/SF in most areas and depending on whether you go with custom painting on-site or buy a factory paint. In your area I would expect to be in the upper half of the range but probably not maxed out.

BTW - you do NOT want Hardibacker - that is a 3x5 or 4x8' flat sheet for tub/shower enclosure backing board use behind surrounds or tile. You are looking at HardiPlank Shiplap for a siding product.

Siding is of course the Search the List category to find well-rated and reviewed vendors to big your job.
