how do i locate the manufacturer on my exterior door?

need to fix my exterior door and looking to see if its covered by the manufacturer

Commonly the label was on the glass (so removed in installation) or peeled of during installation. Sometimes it is on a sticker on the hinge side of the door, occasionally (use a mirror and light to look for) on top or bottom of non-wood doors - on a label or stamped into the door - though if on bottom may be obscured by a door sweep or weatherstripping. Many makes have no permanent label on them.


Basically speaking, hopefully you have an invoice showing make/model AND installation date, because knowing the manufacturer is probably not going to help any (except maybe for buying parts) without proof of purchase/installation date.


You did not say WHAT is wrong with it - but you can commonly find door/window parts in that department at Home Depot or Lowes - also at some Window and Millwork supply places. Also online of course - though like you say, helps to know the make in that case.
