Question DetailsAsked on 4/6/2017

is this online company legit: www.mailingcompany.net

They posted an ad in our local paper stating you can work from home stuffing envelopes and mailing brochures, but has a $37 membership. Is this company for real or is it a scam? Thanks.

Here are some previous questions with answers about that firm and similar ones (which may or may not be the same basic company - there is one or more out there who keeps jumping around with new names that are pretty similar) - also a warning from the feds about this type of "opportunity". One key red flag - them asking you for money up-front - for membership, startup materials, etc - not only do they get the bucks (and if you send it, probably follow up looking for more) but you have also given them your credit card info or checking account info - which might be the primary thing they were after in the first place.
