Question DetailsAsked on 2/13/2018

what does replacing a toilet cost

There is nothing wrong around the toilet; it was recently removed for a remodel and when it was placed back in, the workers must have been really rough with it because it has multiple nicks in the porcelain now--looks dirty. What does it cost, on average to replace it if I buy the new toilet I want?

I would contacxst the remodel contractor and complain, having HIM replace the toilet with equivalent model and install it for free.

Normally, with normal type toilets connecting to existing suitable connections, generally minimum service call charge ($50-300 range from cheapest to most expensive areas but commonly $100-150 range in most areas) to do the replacement plus about $10-20 for the seal to the flange on the sewer pipe. (Some toilets come with the standard thickness wax seal, if you have thin flooring in under the toilet or a thick flooring which terminates at the toilet and is caulked there, with the toilet sitting on the subfloor. If sitting on thick laminate flooring, hardwood, or tile/stone likely needs thick seal.)
