Google the phrase - public woodlot mytown - or course, putting your town's name (and state abbrevaiation if a common name) in place of "mytown".

Craigslist the free wood (Angies List marketplace is shut down so no help at this site).

Contact Firewood companies (the Search the List category) to see if any of them want to take it away (especially likely if cut to one of the standard firewood sizes) or maybe evn pay you a bit for it.

Out out near (but not on) the street/sidewalk at front of your property with a "FREE" sign on it - will usually vanish within a day or two.

Another couple of other ideas I forgot about -

1) if you have neighbors who routinely use their fireplace or who you see using a burnpit in their yard, ask if they want it

2) contact local Boy Scout Council to see if they have a campground nearby needing firewood - they commonly are desperate for it

3) contact local United Way office to see if they can suggest any other charities who might have need for it - Campfire Girls, etc.
