Adjustable memory foam mattresses - worth it?

I'm having spinal fusion surgery and won't be able to move - my husband OTOH has RLS really badly and shakes an older Simmons pillow top very expensive king bed and has to get up and down repeatedly during the night, eventually going to sleep on the sofa which is leather and now destroyed. I can't go back to sleep ever and he does fitfully at best. The result is that neither of us can focus during the day, have been late for appts. etc. And we can neither afford it. We want to get a split king with 2 separate Eco-gel memory foam mattresses each with its own firmness and adjustability controls for about 3500. From a reputable firm in Michigan. The owner does mattress tutorials online. Is this worth it? I see no other way than separate bedrooms which is just sad.
