Question DetailsAsked on 1/4/2012

Are there any companies that pack and transport wine to a new home location?

I have a wine collection containing approximately 400 bottles of wine. Currently the wine is housed on metal racks; however, the bottles will need to be securely packed, separately from the racks, and then all items transported to a new residence. The distance for the transportation is approximately 15 - 20 miles (Wentzville to St. Charles).

We actually did something very similar for a customer. Unfortunately we don't serve your area, but here is what we did. We acquired special wine transport boxes for the wine. If you can't get these, you can order them from Uline at These will protect your wine and they are worth the money especially if the wine is valuable.

So, once the wine is packed, the hard part is over. By the way, don't simply put the wine in the pockets, make sure you wrap each bottle with unprinted newsprint which you can buy from them as well. Once you do this you can rent a van, hire a local mover, whatever makes the most sense, but I would transport the wine seperately.
