You did not say what card - but you would hve to ask them. Basically, most discount cards are taken by most of the box stores and nationwide pharmacies.

However - aside from the privacy concerns in using a card you evidently did not ask for, generally if you are listed with a pharmacy as being covered by an insurance policy, they have to (under their contract with the insurance company) charge you the contract rate regardless of whether the card price might be cheaper. In our case, we have a drug discount card as a result of being a member of a professional organization - but for two drugs we pay as much or more in our insurance copay as the TOTAL cost under the drug card, and the insurance company pays them 4 times that much !

Some people con the system by using their insurance coverage at one pharmacy when it is cheaper there, and a prescription discount card at another pharmacy paying cash and not ever letting them know they are covered by insurance.

So - drug discount cards can sometimes save you money, though at times mandate getting the generic so watch that is you care, and your medical information is put at risk with many or most.

For more previous questions with answers and comments on drug cards (in general and about specific ones) put int he words - drug card - in the Ask box above and it will show you links to about 4 related questions - which will then have other related links in or under the answers. There have been quite a few questions on this site about specific Rx cards.
