Question DetailsAsked on 9/7/2020

At a home inspection, during a flash flood, the inspector found water in the crawlspace. Could it just be a fluke?

The inspector said there was standing water - yes, everywhere you looked that day there was water and the moisture reader showed high moisture as well. I am wondering if this could be an ok crawlspace with a freak flood, vs a real problem? If right after the torrential rain, it dried out, could we be ok or does it necessarily require remediation? I have a crawlspace expert coming to look tomorrow and it hasn't rained in a week now. But, of course their goal is to sell a solution. What are some of the more economical ways to solidly fix a crawlspace with water/ moisture issues? There is no evidence of mold... yet. Thank you.
