Average cost for a fire sprinkler system in New Jersey

Need a fire sprinkler system installed on second floor of building. The area is approximately 2000 square feet. I need to know how long it would take, price, and whether it would go in the ceiling, or next to it. Thanks

I live in Queens and am going through estimates right now and for the 1600 sq ft home I have, I have estimates coming in around $10K - $15K. I also assume you are asking for a residential fire sprinkler system. You have the option of putting the sprinkler under your joists but you will have to suspend your ceiling if you do that. This isn't a problem for me because I have high ceilings. If they have to cut holes in your joists to put in the piping to put the sprinklers at joist level, it wil cost more. I'm told the effort is about 2-3 weeks if your ceilings are already open. Hope this helps.
