Can backsplash be added after installing range hood?

We're planning a kitchen remodel and are wondering the best time order.between three tasks: 1) installing hood vent + ducting through roof; 2) installing backsplash from counter to underside of range hood; and 3) install new range. In my mind, it is best to do the three tasks in sequential order as listed. Do you agree? I would have my HVAC/electrical contractor do the duct work + hood install and counter top crew do the backsplash work + countertop and I would install the slide in range. Sound like a reasonable plan?

Assuming the backsplash is not going to go BEHIND the housing for the vent hood, then you - work top down, and dirtiest work first - the hood and ducting to outside, then backsplash, then install range. IF backsplash needs to tuck up under the range hood might be able to do that if a spacer is left in place when it is installed IF the backsplash is a panel product with no joint behind the hood, otherwise should be done before the hood install (like if tile) and needs to cover the wall up behind the hood.
