Question DetailsAsked on 3/25/2014

Can a business be completely kicked off the list ?

If a business is in the midst of a government sanction against it, can it still remain on Angie's list ? There is a local funeral home currently listed on Angie's List that had both the funeral home's and the owner's license to operate suspended by the Commonwealth of Virginia for 6 months and the owner is still in a 2 year probation status. The Angie's list rating is an 'F'; but if there is/has been a recent government sanction that is a public record against a business, should members at least be advised of such ? The Better Business Bureau does that on their web site.

Hello, this is Meranda with Angie's List. I answered this in your other thread with a similar question but will address it here as well: We do address and note when significant government action has taken place. In some cases, depending on the nature and severity of the actions or convictions, they could be excluded from the List or have a note placed on their profile to alert potential customers. Please contact member services (memberservices@angieslist.com or 1-888-944-5478) to provide the specifics on the provider in question, including links to the government action. We have a team that can dig into the issue and recommend the appropriate action for the situation. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
