Question DetailsAsked on 5/1/2011

Can you help me decide on a window installation company?

I'm getting new windows for my 30 year old, 2 story house. So far, I've been looking at Anlin windows (sold and installed by Custom Exteriors, and West Coast Windows), Milgard (Omni Windows), and Brother's Home Improvements own brand windows. I've also been in contact with a contractor who installs replacement windows (new construction) (brand Cascade) and it's way more invasive and expensive (almost $17.000) and time/labor consuming than retrofit. The price estimates are around the same amount, $10.500 - $13.000. But which one of the brands is THE best, which company to trust... they all say bad things about each other.

i am not sure is this is too late, Windows and Doors business

The most diffucult time to choose the windows brand

My suggestion to choose right company

One of the best is Simonton

They are very big company great warranty /included glass breakage/sunclean glass and more

    Rate #1 company

I will not go with the Brothers they just started to make the windows /no guaranteed how long they will be in business and more

We did replaced all windows in our home with Simonton -Great Product

Company we choose is AAA Windows and Doors

    in Belmont

    Great company

The best what i like from them they did not told us a one bad thing about another window company

i do not know how many windows you have ,but sound is little bit high for the price

    i hope this will help

    thank you

I had 6 bids for new windows on my two story home here in the Silicon Valley. I found it was a toss-up between and Brother's Home Improvement. I chose Brothers because everyone I called was very satisfied with their customer service. Even when they made a mistake on one of my windows, they discounted the new replacement window for my trouble. I find that communication and integrity are #1 when dealing with any contractor. If they are willing to admit and fix a mistake without having to argue, then I put them on my list of good contractors. Beleive me, after 11 homes, I have complied a list of probably 5 good contractors and at least 20 that were marginal. (pretty sad)

Unable to comment about cost when the number of windows and sizes were omitted as was the of window.

IMHO, Millguard is not the best but I see a lot of their trucks on the road. Arlin & Cascsade are new to me "brands"

I'm tempted to call a local company that has been adverstising on TV - 13 windows for less than $7K / sure any disclaimer is impossible to read via TV, and it's likely bait & switch, but.....
