Question DetailsAsked on 9/8/2013

Can you get effective termite control without tenting? When do you absolutely need to tent?

My home was built in 1982, purchased it in 2000 and have seen some evidence of termites (swarms in the garage) and some evidence of "termite dust"

This is not something yuou should let go - they can start causing serious structural damage within a year or so. If you have multiple spots with termites, then you will probably need a tenting followed up with perimeter preventative treatments in the future.

You need to Search the List for a well-rated local exterminator (or is it listed under pest management - I don't remember - use Exterminator if that category exists) and get them to do an assessment. It may turn out they are only in the garage and a localized tenting will do, assuming it is an attached one-story garage without connecting attic to the house.
