I can tell you one to avoid. The GE line with touch panels. The panels are problematic and give out within 2-4 years. I've been through two and there won't be a third in my my house.

I've found while installing several dishwashers for customers that you don't have to spend a lot for bells and whistles on dishwashers. They don't last any longer and the chepaer lines of the major brands often clean just as well as the higher end models. In fact, I've seen many that would be considered low end outlast their high dollar counterparts due to simplified controls that don't wear out as easily. Many retailers have customer reviews of various models on their websites. I'd read some of those to get an idea of people's opinions on any particular model you are looking at.

We bought a Bosch dishwasher and absolutely love it because it is so quiet! You can stand right next to it and can hardly tell it is running. There are lots of cleaning cycle options, and everything comes out sparkling.
