Actual size needed, efficiency you choose and features of the system, will determine the price you pay. Likely from $4000 to $13000.

Find the best contractors and value, on Angie's List. Remeber you will be living with your decision, for around 15 years.

The quality of the System, is mostly determined by the installation.

A couple of add-ons to BayAreaAC's comment:

1) $4000 would be a VERY cheap job, because you are talking around $2-3,000 typically even for low end furnace plus A/C. It may be he did not see that both are included - I would be surprised to see anything under $5-6000 combined.

2) because you are in a location with heavy A/C use but not heavy winters, you might also consider a heat pump to replace both, likely at a hgiher overall efficiency.

3) I noted you said air handler and forced air gas furnace and compressor, but did not say total A/C unit. With the new EPA and DOE regulations A/C units have to be sold as a combined unit with energy rating as a system, so it is extremely rare to be able to reuse the evaporator - generally everything but the wiring and maybe the thermostat and possibly the refrigerant tubing has to be replaced as a system.
