Celest, This depends on how the floor is constructed. Are you ensuring the humidity stays under 60% relative humidity? This is a MUST for basement health. If seepage is happening under the carpet, that must be addressed. Sometimes sealing the floor with a epoxy or pore sealer takes the moisture issue away. Proper dehumidification is first and foremost.
