Question DetailsAsked on 4/24/2016

Do you allow ex-felons to participate?

I teach inmates at a minimum security prison. Several of my class plan to start their own repair companies. I was wondering if you ever use ex-felons for your service. I would expect you to be very careful and thoroughly research them, but a few of my students have a great deal of experience and now have the wisdom that age brings. I know if they could be recommended by you their perspective clients would feel much safer using them and help them become productive members of society.

Companies are added to the list by people that hire them and leave feedback. Providers can also list themselves. However, Angie’s List has background checks performed on all companies that offer Big Deals or exclusive Angie's List discounts to members. Background checks are not performed on C, D, or F rated companies. Our observation is that members tend to avoid these companies. Background checks may include financial, reputational and annual criminal checks.

As has always been our policy, we invite anyone with knowledge of legal, ethical or financial concerns regarding a company to contact us at Angie’s List will investigate any external information it receives regarding a company’s background. Please note that Angie’s List strives to provide current information but, as always, recommends you perform your own research on the companies you hire as well.
