Looks like a is a service that wouldnt necessarily be a benefit to the home owner (customer) in this case.

If you have a solid contract with a clearly defined scope of work AND it dictates three payments (1/3 up front, 1/3 at a well defined progress payment, and final /13 upon completion) - you will control your money and not a third party that is far removed from any negotiable details of your project.

The contractor has his/her guarantees in their ability to put a lein on your home if you dont pay.

I'd keep my money and focus on the contract, getting clear quotes that separate labor from finish materials (flooirng, tile, cabinets) and choosing a reliable and reputable service provider from multiple quotes from rated Angie's List Pro's.
