I would get a tape measure and drill some test holes. Why do you park on a driveway, and drive on a parkway???

Simply measure the depth at on or two edges of the driveway. Or stay home and measure how deepy they scrape and compare to the new hieght.

DO NOT get a top coat of pavement. Either get a proper new driveway, or don't waste your money. It will eventually crack and chip. Even if you ask a great company to do just a top coating, it won't last through the years.
