The actual cost's are totally dependant upon whom you purchase the windows from and what type or how much of energy efficiency you desire . Different manufacture's use differnt gasses, from Argon to Nitrogen , to replace the air between the glass .

You can purchase basic energy efficient windows from LOWES and HomeDepot starting at $ 229.00 and up . Proper Installation and insulation of the windows sides are as important as the type of window and the gas used in them . IMPROPER installation can negate the energy savings of the best window and make them NO Better than standard glass!

I wish there were a simple answer, the best answer is , get three or more estimates. I am from Tri-Pane Installations, in New York I have twenty four years in replacement window biz.

There are so many options and features available, size of the window and type of installation varrie the price as well as regional labor and insurance rates. One most important thing for me to share with you is, if your concern is insulation and energy savings, buy the lowest U-value you can afford. The nfrc rates and certifies window products by u-value and the lower the u-value is the better the energy savings will be . Please contact us if you are in the new york metro area www.tri-pane .com but do get at least three estimates.
