Event sites to rent . . .

I am located in Indianapolis, IN and volunteer for an organization called the SCA, the Society of Creative Anachronism. We research and reenact the Middle Ages. Our hardest challenge is finding event sites that suit our needs. Does anyone know of any rentable event sites in Indianapolis or in Marion, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Morgan, Johnson or Shelby counties that meet the following requirements:

Must be rentable for an entire Saturday, from around 7 am til 12 am, and preferrably have set up time available the night before.

Must cost under $1000 for the entire site. Less is better, but we will pay for a site that suits our needs.

Must look as medieval as possible: think churches, castles, any type of old "period" architecture. The more medieval it looks, the happier we are.

Preferably have an outside area of around 50' by 50' or more. The more the better.

Must have available parking.

Must have a large kitchen with multiple stoves, ovens and fridge space that we can use to create a medieval dinner. Cannot use a caterer. In the past, a huge issue we have run into is a lot of sites that are available to rent have exclusive contracts with caterers.

Must have at least two large gathering rooms, enough to comfortably seat 120 people for dinner, or have a ball (dancing) of around 100 people. Are with platform and seats (like a sanctuary) would be amazing as well.

Must have some smaller rooms available for merchants, classes at the event.

Must have restrooms.

Must have tables and chair available. At least 15 8 foot tables and 120 chairs.

What we do not need:

Kitchen equipment. If its portable, we provide it.

Serving gear. See above.

Table linens.

Servers, parking attendents, clean-up crews. We cover it.

We can provide our own tolietries and trash bags and vacuums if necessary.

ANYONE that has any ideas, perhaps their church, or community buildings we haven't seen, please post. We are canvasing the entire city for available sites and would love help.

Thanks and enjoy the list!!!

Hi Kat,

Is there a particular date your group has in mind, or does it just depend on the availability of an appropriate site?
