Getting pet smells out of carpet

My cat has peed somewhere on my basement Berber carpet; I have tried everything to get the smell out but can not; is there a professional carpet cleaner that you would recommend to get the cat pee smell out, thanks?

You definitely need to call a professional. He will have products and tools not sold to the public that will offer the best chance for removing the cat urine odor. I won't lie--it's a tough job and sometimes irreparable. But a good pro will get you much further than you'd ever get on your own.

On jobs like this I'll find the urine with an ultraviolet light. Then I know how much area needs to be treated. The pad under the affected areas will likely need to be replaced and the subfloor sealed. Then the carpet needs to be treated aggresively to break down and extract the urine. It may sound like overkill but a topical cleaning is superficial and will only waste time and money. If you truly want rid of the odor the job must be done right. It may not cost as much as you think.

Of course, the problem of the naughy kitty must be solved as well. I can't tell you how many times I've corrected a urine odor problem only to have the offending animal re-christen the area. I know pets become part of the family but it's unlikely a proud feline will change his behavior just because you took steps to remove his past handiwork. Something to think about.

Animal smells are the hardest thing to get out of carpets, you will definitely need a professional to help you out. Especially on beber carpet, you could be out there on your hands and knees scrubbing and sniffing around for days. I recommend a service I called on myself to clean my carpets. Their name is Love2Mop out of Irvine, CA. They are thorough and know how to take care of even the toughest pet stain. A great group of professionals, feel free to check out their website they are a fantastic service for carpet cleaning irvine.
