Has anyone installed a Trane XV95 gas furnace? Is is reliable and is the 2 speed, variable motor worth the cost?

Yes it is reliable and worth the cost. You will save on your gas bill and be more comfortable. It does need to be installed correctly and with a communicating T-Stat. Without the communicating T-Stat you will not get the benifits of the variable motor.

yes I have installed many XV95's, If the furnace is installed correctly you will get 20+ years of comfort out of it, The variable speed motor is designed to run with circ. mode or constantly(I run mine all the time) the motor runs off of DC instead of AC power. 80% of furnace problems come from instalation.(duct sizing, static pressure, and most importantly furnace sizing for the application) tinman
