Has anyone purchased AMC movie tickets from Angie's List?

What are the restrictions? I thought I saw something about them on the site but I can't find anything now. Thanks!

Hi Veronica,

If you're a member of Angie's List, it's pretty easy to get the discounted tickets for AMC/Lowes. To order online, log in and then click on the tab at the top that says "Tickets and Perks." It will show the discounted tickets we have available in your market (it varies a little by market). You can then order how many tickets you would like. It usually takes about 5 to 7 before you'll receive them in the mail. It's basically a voucher that you'll turn in at the theater for a ticket to the movie you'd like to see. You can also order by giving us a call.

Discounted movie tickets is just one of the benefits we try to offer our members as an extra bonus.

I hope that helps!

I purchased discounted tickets last year, and included them in the Holiday cards I sent out to a select few of my closest friends. I figured it was an inexpensive, yet creative way to wish them a Happy Holidays. "Give yourself some time off this holiday season and go catch a flick on me!" It was especially great that these were national/regional chains so I had a pretty good chance of finding a theater that existed in the towns where my friends live.

Anyhoo, it was big hit with the friends. Guess I'll have to come up with something different, yet equally cool, for this year.

Perhaps Angie's List will help me out by adding some more inexpensive, yet easy to mail, gift items to their discount list. [;)]

You can purchase discounted tickets in the member benefits section of the site. You can find the link to this page under the member resources tab at the top left of your My Angie page (homepage). Then simply click the tickets button once you land on the member benefits page. You order them there with a cc and then they are sent to you in the mail the next day. It's that easy!

There are restrictions on the tickets; the movie must be out for at least 2 weeks otherwise you pay a $1.50 upgrade fee. But still, the cost is less than purchasing them at the box office.

Almost none of these are answers to the question. OK, so the two week limit is well-stated. But what about 3D? HD? IMAX? Holidays? Matinees?

I don't want to buy the tickets until I know what all they can be used for.

Hello, this is Kiel from Angie's List. There are a few different theaters that we offer discounted tickets for - each theater will have different restrictions that apply to these pre-purchased tickets, so you'll want to visit their website or contact your local box office for those restrictions. Generally, the tickets apply for regular viewings (non-3D or IMAX) of movies two weeks after the release date. Thanks so much!
