I would not recommend this machine this machine to anyone. I got the KDTE334DSS as a replacement for a new Kitchenaid dishwasher they couldn't repair the new one after 7 attemps. Wound up having the situation mediated by the Massachusetts AG's office with Whirlpools legal department. They offered me the KDTE334DSS with a 5 year extended warranty. This was a new model in April of 2014 and had to wait 2 months to get it. We replaced the failed machine with this one. This machine is just over a year old and now is not cleaning the dishes well at all. The racks are collapsing. The quality and noise of this machine is not what the Bosch's are. I have installed 2 Bosch's in the last 7 months for a friend and another for a family member. These Whirlpool products are poorly made and service is terrible at best. It is just my wife and I here and I would expect a machine to last more than a few years without issues. I dread calling for service, due to the fact there will be the standard excuses, too much, wrong soap, the hot water heater is not right in the house, the water is bad and so on... I repair things for a living and Whirlpool products are just junk. I should have taken the refund of my money for the first machine and bought a Bosch.

Still having issues with my replacement KTDE334DSS. The water is not heating during the wash cycle now. The heating element works during the dry cycle. Looks like it is going to need another control board. The plastic clips in the racks are not holding now too. Not a well designed or built machine.

Again I would Not recommend a Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) diswashing products to anyone. Their customer service and warranty service are terrible at best.

Purchased KDTE334DSS in May 2014. After a year the plastic stops on the ends of the top rack crumbled and tiny silver beads fell out onto the bottom. Although I purchased a 5 year warranty, this part is not included. Then Jan.31, of this year I noticed wet carpeting in the living area which is on the other side of a half wall from the kitchen. A leak detection company determined the water leak was coming from the dishwasher. The dishwasher repairman said the leak was a failed pump motor assembly, which he replaced. A hole was cut in sheet rock and the bottom of cabinets under the sink to remove damage from mold. After $7, 000+ was spent to repair damages, of which I paid a $1, 000 deductible, my kitchen and living area were once again usable. Last week I again noticed wet carpet in same area. Again a leak detection service came out , cutting another hole in sheet rock, and assessed the leak was from dishwasher. In the midst of this the electronics went out on dishwasher. The repairman came and replaced pump motor assembly for the second time, ran the dishwasher and it was still leaking. After much searching he said it was "a metal failure" in the stainless steel chassis (not very common). After both incidents, I have been without use of a dishwasher for a total four weeks in the past two and a half months. It will be another week before the repairman returns to replace the chassis, pump, and electronics. What else is left to replace??? I would really like another dishwasher, and it would not be a KitchenAid, or my $1, 100+ that I originally paid for it. I feel like I bought a piece of junk. I have owned GE, Kenmore, and Bosch dishwashers and never had these problems.
