Help with nasty creatures, please!!! How do I remove either nasty rats or mice from the back of my refrigerator?

Use traps to catch/kill them, because trying to clean out the nest while they are there will just make them move elsewhere. Then pull out reefer and do thorough cleaning including taking back cover fiberboard off (with it unplugged) and cleaning in the back and coil area - then disinfect the area where the nest was and all adjacent walls and floor area to minimize the chance of their smell bringing others to nest there - and of course to make it sanitary.

Professionally - Pest Control is the Search the List category.

BTW - in traps, I have found peanut butter with bird seed or granola pressed into it works well as bait - the cheese thing being the favorite food of mice/rats is largely a figment of Disney's imagination.

Another recommendation - put the traps along the side of the reefer where you can reach it, and use masking tape to tape it down to the floor so they cannot drag it in underneath the reefer or behind cabinets when they get caught but not immediately killed - or use a "humane" cage type trap.
