Hi there! How common is it for the contractor to upsell you after we purchse the deal?

Bought a deal for 8 hours of general contractor work fora certain amount. When the contractor came to see the job (which was to install a window) he said it would take longer than 8 hours and that it was going to probably be 4 hours if he was going to bring someone. My husband said he would be the helper and remove the window to help and the contractor added an additional fee to the job. Is this normal??

Sounds like he had no intent to honor the Deal - I would talk to AL about this, and cancel if the work was not done. And upcharging you i the existing window was already removed makesno sense at all.

And 8 hours to change out a window - unless a "combo" - a large picture window with adjacent sidelights or casement windows, or a bay window combo with say three plate glass windows in it - though even then typically only about 2-3 hours for those cases, just need about 3-4 people to do it.
