Click on the Home > Fencing link right below your question and you will find several recent questions dealing with different fence materials and costs.

Generally speaking, Trex will run from 50-250% more than wood ( around $40/LF versus $15-30), depending on what wood you are talking about - pine or such at the cheap end, or cedar or treated wood at the higher end of cost for wood fences.

Be aware of two things - a lot of contractors use standard 4x4 posts with trex fencing, but Trex does make a 5-1/2" square Trex post for fences, though it does drive the cost up.

Also, the Trex fencing material is not rough simulated wood grained like the decking - it is a smooth product. Get a look at samples before deciding.

I would also recommend looking at treated wood and vinyl alternatives before you make your decision - look at what your neighbors have on a drive around, or if you have selected a contractor already, ask what addresses they have recently installed the various types of fences near the road or in front yard, so you can drive by and get out and take a close look at the alternatives. A fair number of people choose vinyl or Trex or other synthetics, and hate it after it is up - a bit late to arrive at that realiztion.
