How do I find someone willing to move furniture from one room to another in my home?

I am a woman who needs help moving furniture in my home. Moving companies rates are based on relocating furniture. Handymen are looking to do repairs. Who would be interested in doing this kind of work for a few hours?

Look in the Home > Moving link right below your question for answers to similar questions about moving furniture from room to room. You have a lot of choices, roughly in order from cheapest (and least experienced in furniture moving) to most expensive and professional. Of course the first couple will generally be uninsured:

1) neighbor's reliable late teenage kids

2) laborer or handyman

3) cleaning contractor (many have a heavy cleaning crew for jobs requiring lots of furniture moving)

4) a staging contractor (they sometimes have furniture moving crew time unspoken for)

5) moving and storage company packing crew

I think LCD gave some really good feedback. You can also sign into and search for Moving or Handymen. I'm sure that some moving companies would provide this sort of service, as would a good handyman. You can also contact our call center for more information at 1-888-944-5478.

Call center hours:

Mon-Fri: 8:30am – 8:15pm ET
Sat: 8:30am – 3:00pm ET

Thanks so much!
