How can I find real estate agents in a new area?

I'm trying to find a real estate agent in a new city that I'll be moving to, however it only shows me real estate agents within my current city. It's about 80 miles away. How can I go about finding an agent in the new city I'll be moving to?

Hello, this is Kiel from Angie's List. If you regularly are looking for companies that provide service in other cities, you may want to consider adding another chapter to your Angie's List membership. Usually for between $10 to $20, you can add another area to search in, which is convenient for people with homes in other cities or relatives, etc.

You can add a city by using the My Account menu, then clicking Manage My Account (in the upper right when you're logged in to www.angieslist.com).

Thanks so much!

I find this solution rather unsatisfactory to be honest.

I joined Angieslist to prepare for this relocation, and was unaware of this restriction. I want to find a real estate agent in another town, and find the idea of paying for an additional subscription for this temporary need disappointing.

Additionally, if I try to add a new 'chapter' to my subscriptions, it requires me to input an actual address in that area, which I don't have. It gives me an error of 'Address is a required field' if I try to continue without it.

This is a frustrating design flaw, or at the very least an oversight of the needs of your customers.

If you prefer, you might want to contact our call center to explain the situation regarding the area you're wanting to search. I know they can provide a few realtors for you with a courtesy search and can also help you with setting up your subscription in the new area if that works best for you: 1-888-944-5478.
