I can only speak from the perspective of a Chicago climate, where we are located, but knowing you have a milder climate with less large swings in temparature, here goes.

In Chicago, as any location, duration of a paint job always comes back to preparation. If the prep is done correctly and thoroughly, that will give you the best chance of a long life. We tell people with our climate that a 1 coat paint job should last between 4-6 years, and a 2 coat paint job should last 7-9 years. The other key will be making sure the siding is not compromised and you use a top quality paint or stain for the job.

Hope this helps.
