Question DetailsAsked on 8/2/2013

How do I get removal of unwanted animals in my area?

Stray cats and kittens that the neighbors are feeding and I want to know how to get them picked up and taken to a place that will take care of them.

Cat rescues have catch and neuter programs, but they release them after the animals are neutered. You have to wait for them to die off, because feral cats are almost impossible to tame as adults.

Your county animal control services and/or your local humane society most likely has a program to deal with stray cats.

If you report them to your local animal control as stray animals and a nuisance, they may come to trap them. Some animal control agencies will not put that effort into it, but will loan you humane traps to trap cats, and then call them to pick them up after trapped.

If you want the people feeding them to stop, you will have to file a nuisance report against them - possibly with animal control, maybe with police department, depending on how things are done in your town.
