Put a few drops of penetrating or sewing machine or gun oil or WD-40 (best) to soak into the tape and threads for several days running - should turn off real easy.

Immediate solution, but be sure to keep off walls and shower/tub because it can remove finishes (including chrome) on tub/shower as well as tile, and will melt plastic like shower surrounds and faucet handles (including shower head so probably will not be reusable) - laquer thinner (same as the strong paint-smelling fingernail polish remover), brake cleaner (automotive), and bumper sticker remover.
