How much should asbestos abatement/removal from fireplace cost?

We have 2 old fireplaces that have asbestos behind the summer covers. How much should removal cost? We are not interested in making the fireplaces functional.

If the summer covers have asbestos, the entire firebox area may be asbestos lined also which would require removing the firebox - almost certainly over $1000 cost and possibly much more depending on access issues - and would almost certainly make the fireplace unusable forever.

Asbestos does not have to be removed, by law - just sealed and covered over in approved fashion by a certified Asbestos Abatement contractor. Todo that, probably about $250-500 for two.
