As I understand, you have 2 lights not working. Checking all lighting and wall outlets, and fixing a wiring defect at the lights would probably run about $90-150 labor, plus maybe up to $25 materials if a couple of defective things are found - or about $25-200 materials depending on brand and on how old if it turns out to be defective circuit breaker. If light fixtures are defective and cannot be fixed (rare) then cost of replacement fixtures plus probably about another $50-100 labor, depending on whether he buys them or you (costs more for him to buy because he has to make a run to the store or shop).

1 hours roughly if a simple wiring defect, about 1 hour twice if fixtures or a circuit breaker/fuse need replacing (unless he happens to carry replacement fuse with him).
