How much should chimney tuck points repair plus damper, cap and crown replacement cost? Is a $600 bid reasonable?

That is right in the range I would have estimated - depending on how much tuck pointing is needed, I would have said probably about $400-800. The damper replacement and cap and crown are likely to be the better part of a day all in all, and tuck pointing a good portion of a chimney takes a day or more of labor.

That is a very resonable price. If the damper is a top mounted damper (the acutal damper is in the cap and can be opened or closed from the firebox),plus the REPLACEMENT of the crown, these items alone are worth $600.00. Tuck Pointing is bonus no matter how much is done
