How much should concrete pouring cost

Need a new driveway. Someone once told me that there is an equation like cost of concrete doubled to get it poured. Does that sound right?

That used to be a fair estimating factor for paving work - but with increased labor and fuel costs it is more like 1.5 times concrete/asphalt cost forlabor, equipment, and overhead. This obviously is only for jobs with ready availability of the concrete/asphalt in your area, and direct access by heavy equipment to the work area - backyard or parking garage jobs that you cannot drive the supply truck right to can run more like 70-80% labor and overhead, and only 20-30% materials cost.

You can find more rough cost numbers, and info about preparation for placemetnt and sealing of finish product in the Home > Driveways link under Browse Projects, at lower left.
