Metal apartment door.

Assuming you mean a standard metal faced door with existing lockset holes in door, then probably about 1/2 hour work and around $75-125 total charge for a normal $25-35 range lock - including (with most brand locksets) keying it to your existing deadbolt or other entrance door if you have one. More if a high security lock, of course.

If no holes in door yet, more like $125-175 range unless the door has punchouts for the lockset openings.

IF it happens to be an undrilled solid plate steel door with 1/8-1/4" plate on both faces, like a heavy duty high security door or converted warehouse loft heavy sliding door, then more like an hour and $150-250 total charge as above, because it takes a long time with a carbide or diamond bit to cut through the steel.
