How much should it cost to refinish an 8'x6' etched carrera marble counter.Ring marks are etched in.

White marble with what appears to be water rings on surface, but they are not stains. They do not disappear with any form of cleansers or rubbing...they are etched into the surface.

Probably are etched in - could be from a glass or container that held something acidic like vinegar or a cleaning solution, or even had a cleaner on the outside when it was set down. Or could be from a glass with soda in it with some spilled on the outside that was set there and left.

Depending on depth, could be taken out with honing (very fine grit polishing) and resealing, or might require grinding and then honing followed by resealing - can run $3 or so at bottom end to as much as $7-10/SF for heavy-duty grinding jobs. Most likely in the $3-5/SF range for your case, and if shallow may be able to just hone out the area with the rings rather than the entire countertop. Minimum charge probably about $150 regardless of area processed.

Person to do this is a marble countertop fabrication/installation contractor - Countertops in Search the List.
