Uh - get his attention, open mouth, tell him you are sorry you messed up the carpet and have scheduled a cleaning ? Hopefully you scheduled it for a time when someone will be there to let the cleaning person in ? And of course if you scheduled it using his AL account and his credit card, that probably is not going to go over as well as if YOU are paying for it, assuming this was a real dumb bunny or grossly negligent act rather than just usual teenage klutziness or not thinking, which sort of comes with the package as far as parents payhing for it are concerned. A lot depends on whether you were breaking a rule or not - like cherry soda or hawaiian punch in the room with the white shag carpet, or spray painting your bike in your room, in which case kiss the tablet goodbye for a bit and ask what house or car cleaning or chores you can do to earn it back.

And tell him sooner rather than later - he may know (or one of you research) an easy way to get the stain/mess out of it without a carpet cleaner - or he may know that it is not going to come out so a carpet cleaner is a waste of money.
